Conference 2010

Ecotourism NZ Conference, 2 & 3 September 2010
Waiariki Institute of Technology, Rotorua

Ecotourism NZ will be co-hosting the Ecotourism NZ 2010 conference with Waiariki Institute of Technology in Rotorua.  The Conference began in 2006 in Greymouth and has been held at Shantytown, Greymouth and at Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology in Nelson. This year will be the first time the conference is held outside the South Island.

Rotorua is an ideal location for this year’s conference as it is easily accessible, enabling the industry to come together and learn how to protect, conserve our natural and cultural environment.  Rotorua is also the perfect location to learn about our heritage and Maori culture, community and interpretation of our resources.  The Conference will give delegates a range of opportunities to learn more about ecotourism including through workshops, fieldtrips, listening to motivational speakers and engaging with fellow delegates.

This year we are proud to announce that our keynote speaker is Robert Swan a polar explorer, environmental leader and the first person ever to have walked to the North and South poles. He is an exceptionally gifted communicator and is regarded as one of the world’s top motivational speakers.

The Ecotourism NZ conference is renowned for developing an atmosphere of warmth and hospitality where delegates can be inspired and motivated as well as celebrate the success of their industry.

The draft conference programme will be on the web site before the end of May.
