Field trips 2010

Field trips are an integral part of learning when it comes to Ecotourism. We need to practice plant recognition, talk to local people with knowledge of history, geological analysis and practice our interpretation techniques.

Throughout the year we embark on many day trips and some multi day trips as well. We go to  a marae to learn Maori tikanga, Kaikoura to observe a cultural tour in action, do an overnight tramp / hike to a historical site and also organise our own outdoor excursions. We have many single day excursions throughout the Ecotourism programme

Field trip timetable 2010

Field trips are an integral part of the ecotourism programme, forming the basis for classroom theory and assignment work.  Up to 50 days or 40 percent of the programme is  spent  visiting  a wide range of West Coast attractions, conservation areas and ecotourism operations.
